Tracks and Cool Places to Ride

The desert is an excellent place to ride extreme off road go carts. It kind of gives you the best of both worlds of speed and off road driving. There are plenty of hills, ruts, and jumps mixed in with the loose terrain. There are also nice smooth stretches leading up to dunes. This allows you to get up your speed really nicely and try to catch some air “jump the hill”. The desert is also ideal for racing. When a desert race happens the officials will mark out a course with a combination of flags and hay bales. The flags are flexible and if they are run over they wont fall down or move. The hay bales are put up to protect spectators. Depending on the class of go cart being raced, they might add jersey walls for extra protection. For example,if all the go cart engines are between 500cc and 1000cc and the go cart frame is over 8 feet long then this puts it in an extreme go cart class. Another cool place to ride is on an indoor track. Indoor go cart racing is a lot different from extreme off road go carts. The go cart frame is different and the go cart parts are different in numerous ways. An extreme off road go cart usually has a transmission. An indoor racing go cart usually has a torque converter. The wooded tracks and places to ride offer a much bigger challenge no matter what kind of go cart you have. The challenge is not to hit any tree’s so be careful to use proper safety gear and an approved 4 point harness. Remember to be safe and have fun.
